Fitness addicts are often coveting Jennifer Lawrence's diet and fitness routine, which allows her to still enjoy her favourite foods including pizza, while still looking as toned as ever on the red carpet. Now the star has revealed she turned to personal trainer Dalton Wong to help her train ahead of X-Men: First Class – and he has shared the secret to her incredible figure.

Jennifer Lawrence regularly wows on the red carpet

"I could never live on a diet. Dalton taught me how to eat, move and live a delicious but healthy life," Jennifer wrote in Dalton's new book The Feelgood Plan. "I will always thank him for that."

She then confessed that the pair would often go out for burgers and fries after training sessions at his London-based gym. Jennifer worked with Dalton for three months, sometimes between 10-12 hours a day, with a series of exercises ranging from weight lifting to resistance training and squats.

"We would do high intensity workouts in the mornings, such as cardio, and then relaxing stuff in the evenings like yoga," Dalton told Healthista. "Some days I would just take her to have a massage."

The trainer, who has also worked with stars including Amanda Seyfried and Zoe Kravitz, explained that he worked with Jennifer to "teach her about what foods worked for her body", adding that what he "taught her five years ago she still uses today".

Dalton also revealed that during their training, he made sure Jennifer was "still able to go out with her friends and still live a normal life."

"There is a time and a place for high intensity, there is a time and a place for stretching," he said. "I couldn't exhaust Jennifer so much that she felt so sore at work the next day, my job was to make her feel better, fitter, and stronger, so that she could work better."
