Actress Liv Tyler is taking self-improvement to the next level in her workout sessions after welcoming her third child. The Lord of the Rings star gave birth to daughter Lula Rose in July, 2016, and according to her trainer Russell Bateman, she has been intent on becoming the best person she can be ever since. "She has so many things to try and juggle but she really is an example for modern day women and female empowerment," he tells People magazine. "Liv, like a lot of the girls I train, is just trying to become her most optimal self. Good sleep, rest and de-stressing all contribute to optimal shape and mood."

Russell helps Liv reach her personal improvement goals by structuring their sessions together in a way that presents a consistent challenge. "Every session is an experience and never boring. Boredom is the enemy," he explains. "We do a mixture of signature movements - like ropes, crawls, lunge patterns - along with more conventional moves with kettlebells and dumbbells and sled work. She's very balletic, and this is coupled with a strong work ethic which makes her a pleasure to train," he adds. "Anything that I say is going to be tough she treats as a challenge, and kills it." Liv, 40, got to show off her toned body in a recent ad campaign for lingerie company Triumph, but Russell insists training to look good for work is not something the actress is all that interested in.

"Her results are the culmination of her mentality, good nutrition and hard work when we train," he shares. "We don't really train for shoots or campaigns - we train for life. My ideal is that clients I train never really have to get into shape because they are consistent all year round. When I see them it's all about progression, goals and contentment."
