Ruth Langsford reveals New Year workout routine - and the one mistake she's made

Ruth Langsford has set herself some fitness goals for 2019 – and decided to share her workout routine with her Twitter followers on Tuesday evening. Taking to the social media site to share the video, she could be seen walking on her treadmill – though she did admit she'd made one mistake, by forgetting to take her makeup off! She wrote: "Didn’t even stop to take my makeup off! #tuesday #garageworkout #treadmill #walking #10000steps #exercise #fitness #FitnessGoals." Plenty of her fans were glad for the inspiration, with one replying: "You look so glam Ruth. I was out walking today too. Have fun."

The This Morning presenter told the camera: "Evening! Back on the treadmill, garage workout, music's on. It's cold, but I'll just have to go faster to try and warm up. Hope you're doing well with your fitness and your new year's resolutions, have you broken any yet? Chocolate's have gone, look! I didn't eat them, I just put them away so I can't see them. That's the only way I can do it. Anyway, happy exercise, whatever you're doing. Keep on going!"

Ruth has been sharing her fitness journey with her followers since early January, joking that she had a 'prosecco belly' after Christmas. She first shared a chat on the treadmill on 2 January, when she said: "Evening, so look, over my shoulder, another box of Celebrations and in that basket is cheese. I've got to try and ignore them both as I'm on my healthy eating regime now. I kind of waited until 2 January, on New Year's Day you have the leftovers don't you?"

She added: "But here I am, garage workout, back on the treadmill. Boring! But it's got to be done, I have to get rid of this Prosecco belly. But I enjoyed getting it!"

In late 2018, the 58-year-old admitted that she had been making an effort to follow a healthy diet and exercise routine, after admitting that going through the menopause had affected her body shape. Talking to a viewer on a This Morning call-in, she said: "It completely affects my ability to lose weight. I try not to let it ruin my life but at least you're doing those things and you're going to boot camp. You're trying your best. As long as you're enjoying your life and living your life it's not all about your weight."
