Penny Lancaster revealed that she used a simple trick to motivate herself to shed the lockdown pounds over the last few weeks – taking a photo!
The star took to her Instagram Stories on Wednesday, where she shared before and after pictures of herself in a bra and jeans.

In the first, she had a more rounded stomach, while in the second, she was clearly slimmer.
The blonde beauty told fans that the first photo was her motivation to lose weight after she gained more than a stone thanks to the menopause and comfort eating.

Captioning the snapshots, the model and TV presenter wrote: "During the lockdown, I found myself entering my menopause and the side effects were exaggerated by the anxiety and fear of the virus and the unknown.
"I turned to food and drink as comfort and gained over a stone."
The 49-year-old continued: "As a wake up call I shamed myself [into] taking a photo. It worked and with a new diet and exercise, I lost 17lbs and 4 inches off my waist in 8 weeks!!"

Penny revealed back in June that she had been experiencing menopause symptoms, telling the Daily Mail: "Millions of women go through it, it’s nothing special but, God, it’s tough."
The star clearly isn't miserable following her new eating plan, though, as she went on to share a photo of her lunch.
Penny was about to enjoy a beautiful frittata, and she captioned this image: "Today's brunch. A LITTLE of what you like is alright!"

Despite claiming that she needed to shed a few pounds, Penny looked gorgeous in her holiday photos over the summer, as she enjoyed a break in Venice with husband Rod Stewart following the end of lockdown.
After she shared a post which showed herself posing for a glamorous series of snaps in a white broderie mini dress, the star's fans commented: "Stunning lady," and: "Beautiful lady, inside and out."
