Hoda Kotb returned to the Today Show on Monday morning for her first day back since having been diagnosed with COVID-19.

The TV star shocked and upset fans when she revealed last week that she had caught a breakthrough case of the virus despite having been fully vaccinated.
In a candid chat during their TODAY with Hoda and Jenna segment, Hoda opened up to co-host Jenna Bush Hager about her diagnosis.

"How do you feel," Jenna asked, to which Hoda responded: "It's so weird, I know a lot of people have been getting these breakthrough COVID cases, and they're happening right and left.
"But you know how you're like 'I'm good, I'm good, I have a tickle in my throat, it's probably nothing'," she continued.

She then revealed that after taking a rapid test before coming into work, she tested positive and decided to isolate for 5-6 days.
When talking about her two daughters, she revealed that since they'd already had and recovered from the virus, a doctor advised that they'd be okay.
The two co-stars talked about Hoda's surprise diagnosis
"So we had some real family bonding time," Hoda cheerfully added, then mentioning that she'd tested negative for three consecutive days before returning to work.
Jenna asked her co-host how she'd been feeling, and she responded that she was feeling fine and had felt the same way throughout the isolation period. "It's just about getting through it," she added.

"I feel like you keep hearing about more and more people who are getting it, and maybe that will lead to a bigger immunity for everybody," Hoda concluded.
As the clip was shared on Instagram, fans took to the comments to wish Hoda well and express relief on seeing her back on their screens.
Hoda revealed with a backstage video that she'd returned to the show
One commented: "Glad you are feeling good, love the hair," with another writing: "Yay! Happy you are back Hoda! And healthy!!"
