Rylan Clark's mum sparks concern on Gogglebox amid ill health - star reacts

Rylan Clark and his mum Linda returned to Gogglebox this season after his mother's battle with Crohn's forced the duo to take a two-year break, but their latest appearance on the show worried fans.

Linda could be seen hooked up to a drip on the most recent Gogglebox episode, with fans taking to Twitter to share their concerns. One wrote: "Rylan is mum okay? Saw the drip on Gogglebox," while another said: "We were questioning last night if she was ok as we saw the tube. Sending our love."

Rylan thanked fans for their concern, writing: "Had a lot of people ask, mum is fine, she has a TPN line for a feed… to do with her Crohn's. V normal. Thanks for asking."

TPN stands for total parenteral nutrition and is a process where nutrients are delivered directly into the bloodstream, bypassing the digestive tract, helping avoid Crohn's symptoms in sufferers.

During a 2019 Loose Women appearance, Rylan spoke in detail about Linda's illness, explaining: "My mum has suffered all my life from severe Crohn's disease and I don’t think Crohn's gets spoken about enough. I nearly lost my mum last year, again, for the third time."

Crohn's disease is an inflammatory bowel condition that can affect people of all ages, though symptoms usually begin in childhood and early adulthood.

There is currently no cure for Crohn's disease, though there are several methods for easing symptoms and alleviating pain during a flare-up.

Rylan and Linda's fans worried for her health

Treatment for relieving symptoms includes medication, immunosuppressants, diet changes and in some cases, surgery.
