This year is set to be an exciting one for Princess Beatrice; not only is her sister Princess Eugenie expecting a second baby, Bea herself is likely to have a busy schedule of events leading up to her uncle King Charles' coronation on Saturday 6 May.
Despite having a jampacked royal calendar in the coming months, April is likely always a memorable time for the princess, who hit a very personal milestone this month in 2010.
13 years ago, the mother-of-one made history when she became the first royal ever to complete the London Marathon, running the gruelling 26 miles in honour of the Children in Crisis charity. Not only did Beatrice run the race, she did it dressed as a caterpillar!
The royal, who was 21 at the time, was one of 33 runners who made up a human caterpillar, decked out in a neon green skirt and a hat with her name on it.
While Bea has not tackled the momentous run again since, it likely meant a lot to her and is surely something she reminisces about as the race rolls around once more. HELLO!'s Online Royal Correspondent Danielle Stacey ran the London Marathon in 2018, and can relate to Princess Beatrice's nostalgia.
"Every year race day brings back all kinds of amazing (and tiring!) memories," Danielle says. "It actually makes me feel a little emotional seeing all those runners crossing the start line and remembering what the day was like.
"It's one of the hardest challenges I've ever taken on, but the feeling when you cross the finish line is incredible, especially when you've got your friends and family cheering you on and you've raised money for a charity close to your heart. I'd love to run the London Marathon again one day."
Beatrice being the only royal to have managed the achievement comes as a surprise, given that many of her relations, from Prince William to Duchess Sophie and Princess Kate, are keen sportspeople.
Princess Kate actually addressed her reasons for not running the famous race, despite being an accomplished runner, during an interview with journalist Bryony Gordon. Bryony asked the mother-of-three if she would do the run, to which Kate answered: "Oh no, security and all that."
Prince Edward's wife Sophie tried her hand at a section of the challenging run in 2020, taking on the first mile and a half of the virtual London Marathon, in honour of the charity Mencap, of which she is a patron. Remind yourself of Sophie's challenge below
Despite the pouring rain, the Duchess of Edinburgh donned her sportswear and took to the streets of Windsor to complete her portion of the marathon.
Princess Beatrice reportedly trained for her marathon in similarly unpleasant conditions, with her trainer Nadiya Fairweather explaining: "We trained in snow, we trained in rain, we trained in mud, we trained in everything. She was committed."
With a lot in her diary this year, we suspect Princess Beatrice is relieved she's not competing in the marathon for a second time.
