F1 fans in the UK were up early on Sunday to watch Lewis Hamilton race around the Melbourne Grand Prix Circuit.

The Mercedes driver was beaten by Dutch champion Max Verstappen, and while this was likely disappointing for Lewis, fans were distracted by his behaviour following the race.

In a photo shared by ESPN F1 on Twitter, Lewis could be seen looking ultra-flexible, bending in an almost inhuman way to touch his toes. ESPN F1 joked: "Totally normal levels of flexibility for a 38-year-old man," raising questions among fans.

Lewis Hamilton wowed fans with his flexibility

"Lewis has a bit of a bad back from what I can tell, so I think it really helps to stay this flexible," one wrote, with another quick to explain that Lewis isn't in pain. "If you can do this, it means you have no lower back pain," they countered.

Others were simply wowed by Lewis' bendiness. "I saw this live and I was like, 'I am 12 years younger than him and heck I can't even do that',", while another marvelled: "My hamstrings are screaming just looking at this."

Other fans noted that it's part of Lewis' job to stay fit, writing: "He's a professional athlete. It's literally his job to stay in shape," while another commented: "He's been training as an elite endurance athlete for decades and has avoided serious injury, not that surprised he's that flexible."

A third sarcastically noted: "It's almost like he's a professional athlete with access to top-tier coaches, and facilities."

Another fan commented that Lewis shared his flexibility with his ex-girlfriend Nicole Scherzinger, who is also known for being super bendy.

Lewis is currently believed to be single. The sportsman and the Pussycat Dolls singer were together for seven years, but following their split, Lewis told The Times in 2018 that his love life was "non-existent".
