Linda Nolan has always been open about her cancer diagnosis, sharing the news in late March that her incurable secondary breast cancer had spread to her brain.

Speaking to Susanna Reid and Richard Madeley on Good Morning Britain, Linda explained: "It's obviously very frightening because there isn't much help for brain cancer at the moment, apart from radiotherapy, which I'm going to be having."

Since then, Linda has shared how her treatment is going on Instagram, posting a photo of herself leaving hospital following her radiotherapy session.

Alongside the photo of herself looking in good spirits, Linda wrote: "Photo from my first day of radiotherapy earlier this week, 4 sessions down - another 6 to go!" inciting endless support from celebrity friends and fans alike.

Linda's loyal fans added: "Linda, you are a tower of strength. You will face this as you always do with indomitable spirit and your special humour," and: "Thinking of you Linda, you're an inspiration, never give up, your family will keep you going, stay positive."

Speaking of Linda's family, her sister, Coleen Nolan, was understandably shaken by the news, breaking down in tears on Loose Women.

The presenter and singer appeared on the panel alongside Ruth Langsford, Janet Street-Porter and Brenda Edwards to discuss the news that Linda's cancer had spread to her brain. Watch the video below to see Coleen bravely opening up to her co-stars.

Coleen was visibly upset as she spoke about her sister, telling her fellow panellists: "I'm so sick of it. It just attacks my family all the time, and I know a lot of people go through it but selfishly, you think of yourself. And I'm scared of crying because I don't think I'll stop."

As well as radiotherapy, Linda detailed that she will be trying a new chemotherapy drug for brain cancer that has been in use for a year.

The Nolan family has a sad history of cancer

"The hope is that this new drug, which they are hailing as a 'wonder drug', will do wonders for me, please god."

Linda was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2006 and underwent a single mastectomy as part of her treatment. She got the all-clear in 2007 but went on to develop secondary cancer on her pelvis in 2017.

Sadly, Linda isn't the only Nolan sibling to have faced the disease. Bernie Nolan died of cancer in 2013 while Linda's sister Anne has had breast cancer twice but is now in remission.
