Married At First Sight Australia's sexologist Alessandra Rampolla is one of the most glamorous women on TV and the 50-year-old has been open about how she maintains her flawless appearance.
In an interview with Woman's Day Magazine in 2021, Alessandra shared that she underwent a gastric bypass in 2008. "It was such a transformation both physically and mentally," she said of the procedure, which involves surgically altering the stomach and small intestine.
Alessandra said that her decision to undergo surgery was unrelated to looks, and that she decided to have the procedure for her health.
"I did it for my health, and at the time I was married and I was thinking about having kids and I had learned about the complications of trying for a baby with that extra weight, so I made a decision," she explained.
The TV star said she had tried to lose weight naturally, to no avail. "I tried a lot of different things before it, but [the surgery] really allowed me to get my weight under control."
