Welcome to Let's Be Frank, Frankie Bridge's brand new column for HELLO!
Holiday season is almost upon us, and while travelling is a luxury never to be taken for granted, it also brings a lot of anxieties to the surface.
For me that includes worrying that the kids are going to drive everyone mad on the plane, the fear that the place you have booked doesn't actually exist and not being 'beach body ready'.
But the idea of being 'beach body ready' is so outdated. Don't ruin your excitement by stressing about how you're going to look in your bikini; I promise, no one is looking at you! They're either too busy watching TikTok or they're more concerned with celebrating everyone's individual body.
To boost my confidence pre-holiday, I always self-tan before I go. Why wait until you're away for a bronzed look, when you can look glowing and feel more confident on that first beach day?
My self-tan of choice is Bare by Vogue, £16. I love the smell and the colour is natural, plus you don't have to build it over time.
Another holiday worry of mine which can impact my confidence is heat rash. I make sure to take an over-the-counter antihistamine and use the Institut Esthederm Sun Intolerance Body Spray, £39, every day for two weeks before you go away can really help to prepare your skin and minimise the chances of the annoying, itchy skin rash.
Frankie's beach makeup favourites
Once I'm on holiday I love to keep my beauty look lowkey.
I step away from the hairdryer, straighteners and curling wands and say hello to natural, beachy, healthy hair. It's the perfect opportunity to give my hair a break and save some space in the case. Go for a slick bun with the help of a nourishing hair mask. I love Philip Kingsley's Elasticizer, £17.82.
I keep my makeup simple too. For my brows I use Refy Brow Sculpt, £16, and Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Pen, £21.
On my skin I wear an SPF with a tint for day and night. My current favourite is Ultra Violette Daydream Screen, £38, and Hydrating Lip Sheen with SPF 50, £16. Lastly, I add a bronzer to shape my face – MAC do the best ones.
Frankie's holiday wardrobe
It's all about easy-to-wear, chic outfits on holiday. An oversized white linen shirt is essential. I chuck it over a bikini in the day, and pair it with any outfit day or night.
A great wrap skirt is the perfect addition to every holiday suitcase. I like to pair it with a Hunza G swimsuit for a day on the beach, or as an easy breezy night look.
The swimsuits are expensive, but they're a staple in my holiday capsule wardrobe.
A fabulous pair of drawstring wide-leg trousers are always in my suitcase, for the times I don't want to be in a dress or a skirt. They also work with the swimsuit.
Accessories-wise, one pair of statement earrings can elevate a simple nighttime look, plus they're a simple way to make you feel more put together in your swimwear.
The truth is we all relax and enjoy ourselves in different ways, so just sit back and ride the wave…
