Get the look: Jennifer Aniston

February 17, 2011

If there’s one A lister who knows how to stay looking fab after 40, it’s former Friends star Jennifer Aniston. The youthful star never puts a foot wrong in the beauty stakes – and now, thanks to our makeup artist to the stars Alice Theobald, you can recreate her effortless, California beach babe style.

"This look is all about being fresh-faced and naturally sunkissed and beautiful," says Alice. "As always, prep the skin and make sure it's well moisturised. Any blemishes have to be blitzed for this look – try my favourite concealer, Laura Mercier Secret Camouflage Concealer. "Then, using EstéeLauder's foundation brush– which I think is one of the best – apply Bella Piere makeup base nice and evenly to match you skintone. Add a nice little shimmer at the tops of the cheekbones using the Nars Copacabana makeup stick."

Keep any shine at bay by powdering the face with a sheer powder. "For perfectly groomed brows remove any strays using tweezers, and strengthen the natural arch of the eyebrows using Mac's brow pencil," advises Alice. "Then, to recreate Jennifer’s eye makeup I’ve chosen to use MAC pigments

Apply Tan from lash to socket, Chocolate Brown in the socket, and then blend. Next, use the Naked shade under the brow and in the corner of the eyes." To really make you peepers stand out, define the eye by working a dark brown pencil into the lashes, blending outwards with a cotton bud on both top and bottom sets. "Select a black mascara and wiggle the wand through the lashes to ensure maximum coverage, then, to brighten the eyes, use the medium pencil - in 8H1 - from Illamasqua, which will instantly waken up the eyes," Alice adds. "Then, move onto the lips. Line them with the Yves St Lauren pencil #17

This can also be used to cover up any lip imperfections – if one side is not quite symmetrical, you can correct that. Then, using a lip brush, use Nars’ Chelsea Girl lip lacquer

This will give extra shine, but it comes in a pot so you do need to apply it using a brush. "For the finishing touches, select a blusher to apply in a circular motion on the apples of the cheeks – "This will ensure no harsh lines and will look more natural," she says – then dust some terracotta bronzing powder over the areas where the sun naturally catches your skin – the forehead, nose and décolletage."
