From deep maroon to the classic ruby red, the stars at the Screen Actors Guild Awards showed they were all lovers of a spot of lipstick.Celebrating her award with co-stars for the 'Best Drama Series Cast' for Downtown Abbey, Michelle Dockery beamed at the cameras with a deep shade of red coating her lips.
Normally known for her understated style, the 31-year-old actress wore a daring vintage Chado Ralph Rucci black satin dress with sheer panels that revealed a glimpse of the actress' ivory skin. But keeping the look demure, Michelle had her medium-lengh locks neatly styled with a chic side-sweep, and her standout lip shade perfectly complemented her natural brunette colouring with its brown-toned base. Topping it off with drop earrings and sophisticated, smokey eye-makeup Michelle's eyeshadow also featured just a tint of green shimmer to bring out the brown in her eyes. The Downton Abbey star only just missed out on the award for 'Best Actress in a Drama Series' which went to American actress Claire Danes who wore a similar shade of burgundy red on her lips. Having given birth to her first child and son, Cyrus Michael Christopher on December 17, 2012, Claire took to the red carpet showing off an outstanding post-baby body in a one-shouldered Givenchy gown. The 33-year-old was still glowing at the awards as she won the individual nomination for her role in the US television thriller, Homeland. Another two competing actresses were also sporting similar smiles as Naomi Watts and Jennifer Lawrence went head to head for the award for 'Best Movie Actress' wearing gorgeous blue-based lipsticks.
Nominated for her role in tsunami disaster film The Impossible, Naomi made sure her colourful magenta pout grabbed attention as she matched the bright shade with a sheer-white strapless lace Marchessa gown with Christian Louboutin shoes. But the Silver Linings Playbook star Jennifer Lawrence stole the show with her ruby-red smile when the 22-year-old stepped up to the stage to collect her award.
