Zoe Saldana and Marion Cotillard have been taking the French Riviera by storm this week as two of the most glamorous women at the Cannes Film Festival. Turning chic daytime beauty looks into a more dramatic affair for the evening premiere of their last film, Blood Ties, the two actresses sauntered down the red carpet with enviable style.
Attending the afternoon photocall, Zoe Saldana opted for a simple skin and a statement lip during the day to complement the monochrome Emanuel Ungaro number she wore for the afternoon's photographs. The actress then added a pop of colour to the black and white dress, with a pair of neon orange heels and an on-trend fuchsia matte lip in a similar shade to NARS' Jungle Red from their Semi Matte Lipstick collection.
To go with her bold lipstick, Zoe, 34, kept her lashes fluttering with a couple of coats of lengthening mascara but kept the rest of her skin make-up subtle for a chic daytime-appropriate look. Keeping her tresses tousled for the day the Avatar actress swept her hair out of her face with a small plaited headband for evening's main event. Zoe has previously admitted in an interview with Instyle that she loves playing with her own hair and make-up, saying that "In Latino culture, hair carries a lot of history, a lot of weight, and a lot of energy".
The Blood Ties star's Cannes hairstyle is certainly an effect that's easy to pull off without a stylist at hand. Simply plait one section close to the front of your hairline, fold over the rest of you hair, and pin in place with hair slides.
The actress also added, "[My mother] always said, ‘Honey, there is nothing that a red lipstick and a pair of red shoes can't heal. And I absolutely believe that".
With this in mind, Zoe also swapped her lipstick for the red carpet premiere with a darker shade of rouge and opted for a creamy bronze eyeshadow all over the lids finished off with an accentuated cat-like flicker of eyeliner.
Her co-star and French actress Marion similarly sported natural make-up during the day teamed with rosey hues to show off the flawless features of her skin.
To get the look, a light-coverage base such as Eminence's Vanilla Latte Tinted Moisturiser is ideal for created a soft, sheer finish to the skin. Add a simple sweep of coral blusher and a slick of peachy pink lipstick to finish off Marion's daytime beauty look.
Marion Beehive sophisticated up-do Marion La Vida en Rosa Make-up artist to the stars, Christophe Danchaud, who has previously worked with the actress has said that Marion loves using natural cosmetics brand, Tarte. To achieve Marion's glossy lip look, Tarte's Maracuja Divine Shine Lip Gloss in Tispy is just the right shade and an eyeshadow palette filled with metallic silvers and greys is a great way to get all the colours for perfecting that smouldering eye effect.
