In an exclusive interview with HELLO! Online, The Only Way Is Essex star Lucy Mecklenburgh has revealed that she thinks TOWIE is the "original" reality TV show. "I have seen Made In Chelsea," she said of the hit E4 show, "and it's quite good – I just think that TOWIE is the original. "She also opened up about her plans, for the time being, to stay in TOWIE, the ITV2 show that rocketed her to fame. It has brought in many lucrative deals for the pretty brunette, who is currently the face of Nutra Nail Gel Perfect.
"I am staying in TOWIE," she said. "I will be in series 10, which we start filming in a couple of weeks. But I don't know what my future is beyond that…
"Whether she decides to continue with the show beyond that or not, Lucy said she was extremely proud of the show's huge success. "We've made it to three years which is pretty exciting!"
The 22-year-old, who recently lost weight through a gruelling exercise regime, also admitted to googling her own name. "Usually I google myself when I have been to a big event or worn a dress I liked and wanted to see what the fashion editors or news editors have to say about it."
TOWIE is known for its glamorous girls and, with her impeccably groomed appearance, Lucy is no exception. Talking about her beauty must-haves, she revealed, "One would be Gel Perfect as it saves me so much time – I don't have to sit in a salon which really bores me! Another one would be my mini Elnette Hairspray – I don't leave the house without this.
"I also love a lipgloss, Mac Matte Powder and RapidLash. "Lucy recently decided to shun the typical Essex tumbling tresses by taking out her extensions and cut her hair to just above the shoulders. Speaking about her decision, she said, "I just wanted to go for a new look. It separates me from a lot of the other girls in Essex and is a bit different for me!"
She experienced a tumultuous relationship with costar Mario Falcone on TOWIE but they recently called time on their relationship. Now, she says her ideal man is Hollywood star Bradley Cooper. "I love Bradley!" she said. "I heard he was on a hike in LA when I was there last week – bit disappointing that I didn't bump into him! But then again I do like tall, dark and handsome men like David Gandy."
Nutra Nail Gel Perfect is the first at-home, UV/LED light-free gel colour manicure. It launched in the UK exclusively at Boots on 9 September.
