Gwyneth Paltrow channels former friend Madonna in new shoot for Maxfactor

July 2, 2014

Gwyneth Paltrow and Madonna famously fell out several years ago but it seems the actress may be looking to make amends as she channels the Queen of pop in these new photographs to celebrate 100 years of make-up brand Maxfactor.

For the wild decade of the 1980s, Gwyneth has modelled herself as Madonna with clashing eye makeup and lipstick, big hair and a lace outfit.

The blonde beauty's take on 1970s heroine Farrah Fawcett was first revealed in November 2013, with Gwyneth wearing her hair in Farrah's waves with a gold glitter jumpsuit, perfect for the disco era.

In these new shots which also channel the 1950s and 1960s, we see Gwyneth take on Audrey Hepburn's classic look from the film Breakfast at Tiffany's, with a stylish updo and strings of pearls, before styling herself on Bridgette Bardot, the French actress, model, and singer who became one of the '60s biggest fashion icons.

Gwyneth and Madonna famously fell out in 2009 after an argument between Madonna and a mutual friend, Tracey Anderson.

The Iron Man actress said to Vogue at the time: "I’m having a situation right now with a friend where I’m feeling pretty angry. But revenge is corrosive and it doesn’t make me feel good."

She alluded to the fact that Tracey and Madonna had stopped working together - Tracey is a personal trainer - and said: "It's good that she doesn't train Madonna any more. It was too much. She keeps people waiting - it takes up your whole day. "Tracey and Gwyneth now own four gyms together.

Gwyneth's four new looks were created with the help of creative design director and make-up artist to the stars, Pat McGrath, to celebrate Maxfactor's 100 Years of Glamour campaign.

The looks use key elements of the original looks but with a modern twist.
