Kim Kardashian, 34, is renowned for rarely stepping out without flawless make-up, often experimenting with edgy and glamorous looks. However, the Keeping up with the Kardashians star has repeatedly admitted that contouring and highlighting play a major role in her daily beauty routine. On Monday night, she delighted fans when she revealed how she uses this popular method to achieve her look.
Kanye West's wife took to Instagram to share a selfie in which she poses with her make-up only half finished. "Kontour!!!! Not finished with my make up yet but wanted to share a pic of some contouring make up tricks," she captioned the close-up snap.
Kim appears to have already prepped her skin and applied the base for her make-up, and seems to be midway through the highlighting phase in the photo. Lighter make-up shades are blended into her cheekbones, the tip of her nose and her T-zone, contrasting darker shades of bronzer and foundation on the sides of her face and bottom of her cheeks to create her world-famous sculpted look.
The reality TV queen has been championing contouring for years, and the craze has swept the beauty world with endless tutorials and the world's biggest stars giving it a try.
"Contouring really sculpts the face and makes you look instantly slimmer," Youtube sensation Tanya Burr told HELLO! Online. "It helps give a more defined bone structure.
"When you apply foundation to your entire face, it becomes a blank canvas. So, it is critical to go back and add the dimensions back in."
It could be that Kim was enjoying a night of pampering and experimenting with make-up, after a fun day out with daughter North West earlier that day. The pair headed to a nearby farm for an Easter Egg hunt ahead of Sunday's celebration. Kim shared an adorable photo of North triumphantly smiling at her basket full of eggs as they prepared to head home. "Northie was so proud of all the eggs she found!" she captioned the heartwarming image. "She wouldn't stop talking about it all night!
