Have you ever wondered how your favourite lipstick is made? Beauty addicts have now been given a glimpse into the process as the Bite Beauty Lip Lab in New York opened its doors for a short video with a step-by-step look at lipsticks being created.

A new video shows how lipsticks are made
In the clip, filmed for stylist Rachel Zoe's The Zoe Report, factory workers were seen hard at work from the moment they mixed the pigments to the lipstick being inserted into the tube.
First the vegetable base is mixed with the pigment to create the Bite Beauty formula, and then inserted into a machine with rollers which smoothe out the mixture in order to create the lipstick's creamy texture.
The various shades are then melted in order to create a wide range of colours, and can be seen being stored in separate beakers, the colours already vibrant. This formula is then poured into the metal mold into the iconic cylindrical shape, before being placed inside a freezer to set for just 15 minutes.

Once the mixture has cooled, the product is then inserted into the tubes – and voila, a brand new lipstick is created!

It's not the first time this year that beauty fans have been given a sneak peek at how their favourite products are created. Kylie Jenner delighted her social media followers earlier this week when she revealed she was launching an eyeshadow palette, and took to Instagram to share a short clip of herself helping to make the new Kyshadow range at the factory.
The video, shared with her 69.1 million followers, sees Kylie wearing a lab coat and hair net as she operates the machinery to put the eyeshadow powder into the mold. "Throwback to when I spent the day learning how to make these eyeshadows for you guys," she wrote in the accompanying caption.
