Kim Kardashian talks the make-up trend she's bringing back

August 19, 2016

Often hailed as the queen of contouring, Kim Kardashian shocked fans earlier this year when she revealed she was done with the make-up trend. However, it seems the Keeping up with the Kardashians star wasn't completely finished with the look, recently admitting that she has since began using the technique again for her world-famous selfies.

Kim Kardashian is often hailed as the queen of contouring

"I talked about how I was 'over' contour a while ago, for an interview with Vogue in the UK, and I think that's because I was into it a little bit less in that moment," the 35-year-old told E! Online. "But I'm back into contour and think when you've done it really well it definitely helps your selfie."

Speaking about her favourite Lumee cover she added: "Once you put the light on, it just shows off your features so well."

The reality TV star admitted she has gone back to the make-up technique

The beauty icon then shared her secret to mastering the contouring technique, explaining that she prefers to use cream products to achieve her highly-coveted make-up look.

"I've been a powder contour person for the longest time, but now I've been into using darker foundations and cream contour," she admitted. "I like a dewier look. My favourite matte pressed powder I used to only use was discontinued, so I have kind of resorted to cream contours."

Despite taking a short break from the trend, there's no doubt that most beauty addicts will associate the contouring craze with Kim – she is often credited for catapulting the look to its iconic status in the world of beauty. However, it was make-up artist Mario Dedivanovic who has often been said to have helped her master the trend.

"Sculpting is always a part of my routine with Kim; it helps to define features, it's a diet for the face," he previously told HELLO!. "Kim does not need it every day, but when you are being photographed as much as she is, it really helps. It's great in selfies and who doesn't want high and more-defined cheekbones, a slimmer face and a more defined jaw?"
