All eyes were on Princess Eugenie on 22 January, when Buckingham Palace announced the news of her engagement to Jack Brooksbank. In official photographs to mark the occasion, Eugenie, 27, proudly showed off her stunning engagement ring - a padparadscha sapphire surrounded by diamonds - which was further complimented by her choice of manicure. Eugenie's pristine nail were perfectly shaped and painted in a light neutral shade to ensure nothing detracted from her ring. It's worth noting that blush-toned nails look great on all skin tones and will gave your hands a chic, modern finish that won't clash.

"The best way to show off that new sparkler is with soft pinks and natural nudes. Perfect for engagement or wedding nails" she explains. "And short nails always look well maintained, clean and crisp." She continues: "You could achieve this look with gel polish Red Carpet Manicure. 'Candid Moment' is a firm favourite of mine and a real go-to-colour for all occasions. Alternatively if you are after a nail polish rather than gel, Morgan Taylor's 'One and Only' is the perfect pink nude. Always finish with a cuticle oil, Dadi'Oil is brilliant and smells divine."

The story behind Eugenie's dazzling engagement ring is a heartfelt one. The beautiful design, which resembles a flower, is believed to have been inspired by her mother, the Duchess of York's own engagement ring. Sarah Ferguson's ring is a ruby stone also surrounded by diamonds, and looks similar in size and shape to her daughter's.
