Chanel has done it again – released a beauty product that has got us all in a tizz. Men's makeup has been doing the rounds for quite some time now, although isn’t as widely available as women’s cosmetics. L'Oréal Paris has used men in makeup campaigns before, and Tom Ford has a range of male grooming products. Now, those clever people at Chanel have produced a full line of cosmetics for all the men out there, aptly named Boy de Chanel. There’s an eyebrow pencil in four different shades, a matte moisturising lip balm, and a foundation, which an SPF of 25. Now, we know that eye pencils and lip balms aren’t particularly ground-breaking, but a foundation is something completely different. In a statement, a spokesperson for the brand explained to WWD: "Just as Gabrielle Chanel borrowed elements from the men’s wardrobe to dress women, Chanel draws inspiration from the women’s world to write the vocabulary of a new personal aesthetic for men. Lines, colours, attitudes, gestures... There is no absolutely feminine or masculine prerequisite: style alone defines the person we wish to be."

Boy de Chanel has got people talking

We decided to ask two men their views – and their responses are interesting. HELLO!'sPhilip Josse, said: "For years, women have used foundation and concealer to even out their complexion and cover up the odd spot or blemish, so why not men too? There's clearly a market for male cosmetics and it makes sense that Chanel wants to capitalise on that. I'd definitely try it if I was having a bad skin day or if I was feeling especially run down."

Boy de Chanel's foundation has an SPF of 25 and the packaging is so sleek

HELLO! reader Jon has a different view. "I would just worry about the liquid getting stuck in my beard and being a little obvious... Sounds silly but I feel like it would make me feel a little self-conscious. But, I can understand wanting to even out your skin tone if you don’t feel it’s perfect."
