Loose Women star Ruth Langsford took to Instagram on Wednesday to show off a rather startling new look, leaving fans beside themselves.

The This Morning host allowed her husband, Eamonn Holmes, to do her makeup live on air, and the results left the doting mum's Instagram followers in utter disbelief.

Posting a photo of herself peeking around a door in the ITV studios, Ruth could be seen with bright red lipstick all around her mouth, and captioned the hilarious photo: "If you want to know how I ended up with lipstick like this tune in to @loosewomen special 'Loose Loved Ones' show at 12.30."
It wasn't long before fans flocked to the comment section of the mother-of-one's post to express their surprise.

"OMG! I am crying!" exclaimed one.
"STOP," said another, with a third hilariously pointing out: "Oh dear Ruth you look like the Joker!"
Others praised Ruth for letting Eamonn anywhere near her face with lipstick.
"You're a good sport Ruth," one social media user sweetly noted, with another telling her: "You two are so funny - good on you!"
The moment unfolded during the final segment of Wednesday's Loose Women, when the men were challenged to do their wives' makeup.

Peter Andre, who was on the show with his other half Emily MacDonagh, simply added a bit of mascara to her lashes, but leave it to doting dad Eamonn to get carried away.
Peter himself couldn't help but make a Batman reference, asking Ruth: "Have you seen The Joker? It's such a good movie."
Ruth and Eamonn and been together for 23 years, and the TV couple married in 2010 after a 13-year romance, and are parents to their 18-year-old son Jack.
