Hayden confirmed her engagement to 38-year-old Wladimir last October. The pair first met in 2009 at a book party and dated for two years before calling off their relationship. Happily, they reunited last spring.

The Nashville actress’s romances – with the likes of Welsh TV presenter Steve Jones – have been followed throughout much of her adulthood after she grew up in front of the cameras on TV shows such as Ally McBeal and Heroes. The petite star's latest romance drew interest not only because of the age difference but due to the fact that she is only 5ft tall while Wladimir is 6ft 6in.Hayden’s pregnancy may come as no surprise to fans as she was quoted in the May 2013 issue of Glamour saying she wanted to start a family.

"I've lived a very big life, and I don't feel my age, and I feel like I was born to be a mother," she said. "Sometimes people speak about [having kids] like, 'Your life ends -- you're never going to be able to do anything again!' And I'm like, 'What are you talking about?' Motherhood is the most beautiful, exciting thing, and there's nothing that I feel like I can't accomplish while having children in my life. "The blonde beauty added that she has a pretty good idea of what her and her partner’s offspring might look like. "He's got bowlegs and I've got knocked knees, so they're going to have straight legs," she said on The Ellen DeGeneres Show in November 2013. "And they'll be normal height."
