Vanessa Carlton has revealed that she is expecting her first child.
The A Thousand Miles singer announced the news on Instagram and Twitter with a link to her Facebook page for more information, where she joked with her fans that it definitely wasn't a bunch of croissants.
"I can now reveal the reason as to why Liberman will not be released until next summer. See the picture below. No, those aren't a bunch of croissants. We're expecting a baby. . It’s healthy and moving around like a champ", she explained to her followers.It is some welcome news for Vanessa and husband John McCauley who revealed they had lost a baby at the end of 2013.
Speaking at the time via her website, Vanessa said: "This is not considered a viable pregnancy because the fetus cannot develop, and it is a high-risk situation for the mother because of the potential for tubal rupture and internal bleeding. "She also explained that she had been lucky enough that her doctors caught the condition early, but she later experienced complications and had to have her entire right fallopian tube surgically removed.
John flew to be by her bedside, and she wrote: "I realize I am a lucky woman on many levels here."Vanessa and John married in December 2013 in a ceremony officiated by her friend, Fleetwood Mac's Stevie Nicks. Liberman, the follow up album to her fourth titled Rabbits on the Run, was due for release in 2014 but Vanessa added: "I’m bummed to delay the album because it's so special to me and the perfect combination of England and Tennessee. When I put the record on it feels like medicine. I hope it does the same for you…in due time!
