Jessica Ennis-Hill gives birth to a baby boy, Reggie Ennis-Hill

Jessica Ennis-Hill has given birth to a baby boy, who she has named Reggie Ennis-Hill.The Olympic heptathlon champion made the announcement on Twitter on Friday morning. "Our beautiful baby boy Reggie Ennis-Hill was born yesterday. We couldn't be happier x," wrote the new mum. She also shared an adorable snap of the newborn, dressed in a stripey babygrow with a lion on the front, with her 1.34 million followers.

Jessica Ennis-Hill has welcomed a baby boy

Jessica, 28, welcomes her first child with childhood sweetheart and husband Andy Hill.

The pair, who met when they were teenagers at King Ecbert School in Dore, Sheffield, tied the knot in May last year. Upon learning the "unexpected but exciting news" of her pregnancy in January, Jessica released a statement.  "I have some very unexpected but exciting news to share – Andy and I are expecting a baby," she said at the time.

"We are completely overwhelmed, with excitement and a degree of anxiety that I am sure all first time parents will relate to.While the sportswoman, who has received a CBE for her services to athletics, will miss the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow this summer, she looks forward to defending her Olympic heptathlon title in Rio in 2016."I am 100 per cent set on returning to full time athletics once our baby is born and go for a second gold medal at the Rio Olympics in 2016 – that challenge really excites me," said Jessica.
