Coronation Street star Catherine Tyldesley has exclusively revealed to HELLO! magazine that she is expecting her first child. Posing for the first time in a photoshoot with her fitness trainer boyfriend Tom Pitfield, Catherine tells HELLO! the baby is due in March. And she reveals that, given how she was single this time last year, she can't quite believe that only nine months after she and Tom started dating they are set to become parents. "If you'd told me that before my next birthday I was going to meet someone as amazing as Tom, the person I want to spend the rest of my life with, and that we were going to be planning for our first baby, I would not have believed you in a million years… it's crazy," Catherine reveals.

"It's like everything has gone fast forward, but it's not remotely scary. It just feels 100 per cent right, which is very different for me because I am the world's most indecisive person. I will ask everybody's opinion on everything, whereas I am totally sure about this."

And Catherine adds that she knew almost immediately after meeting Tom that he was the man for her. "People say that when you meet the right man you know. But I never ever believed that. I thought, 'No, you need to get to know someone.' But after three months of being with Tom I knew he was absolutely The One. And it’s the most amazing feeling."

And she says she always wanted to be a mother. "I have felt strongly that being a mother is something I am supposed to do and when I met Tom I absolutely knew that he was the right person. It feels like the right time," she explained. To read more of the interview with Catherine, pick up the latest issue of HELLO!.
