Scarlett Johansson welcomes her first child

September 5, 2014

Congratulations to Scarlett Johansson and her fiancé Romain Dauriac, who have welcomed their first child together. Daughter Rose was born in New York City, a spokesperson confirmed, adding that both mother and child are doing well.

The new parents have been dating since the end of 2012 when they were introduced by a mutual friend, tattoo artist Fuzi Uvtpk. In September last year, Hollywood beauty Scarlett, 29, let on that she was engaged by arriving at the Venice Film Festival with an exquisite art deco sparkler on her ring finger.

Explaining what she looks for in a partner recently, the star said: "I like people that have a colourful way of looking at things, that are inspiring. And like art, music and film." Romain, thought to be 32, certainly fits the mould. He was editor of French urban art magazine Clark before becoming the manager of a creative agency.

Despite the proposal, Scarlett, who was previously married to Ryan Reynolds for three years, doesn't want to rush down the aisle. "I am not doing any wedding planning," she said in a TV interview in January, adding that it's "lovely to be engaged. It's a nice romantic time". Having children is more important to the actress."

I would like to have my own family, that would be nice," she said. "They say it's never the right time and I am sure that's true, but I think you have to plan it like anything else.""At some point it is something I look forward to," she continued. "I am fortunate in that I have had a long career, 20 years, that has been very diverse. So, you know, picking a time to plan a family feels like something that I could do and not feel as though I was missing out."
