Milla Jovovich had a double treat for fans this week. The star not only showed off her blossoming baby bump for the first time, she also revealed the gender of her unborn child.

"We found out. We're having a girl," the 38-year-old excitedly told E! News on the red at the amFAR LA Inspiration Gala.

The star, who looked radiant in her red Donna Karen gown, said that her six-year-old daughter Ever was especially pleased by the news.

"I don't know what we would have done if the baby was a boy!" Milla said, adding that Ever has been telling her parents not to buy any new clothes for her baby sister – not because she's jealous, but because she wants to share.

"She keeps saying, 'Don't get anything new. She can wear all my clothes'. She's so economical," she said, with a laugh. The star also admitted she was a bit nervous to show off her pregnancy curves on the red carpet, but said she was "super happy" nevertheless. "I feel really good today," she said.

Milla was joined at the gala by her proud husband, Paul W S Anderson. The couple have been married for five years now, and announced in August that they had a second baby on the way.

"This was originally going to be a post to tell you about how excited I am about flying to Cape Town, South Africa to begin working on Resident Evil: The Final Chapter," Milla wrote on her Facebook page. "But…My husband Paul and I just discovered we are expecting another baby!!!

"So after a lot of discussion, we thought it would be in everyone's best interest to wait til the baby is born before we set out to try and tackle an RE movie."
