Ryan Reynolds has shared his excitement over his wife's pregnancy, saying "I'm good with nappies". The Green Lantern actor will become a father for the first time when Blake Lively gives birth early next year.

The handsome Hollywood star explained that coming from a big family has prepared them for the messier aspects of parenthood. Ryan is one of four children, while Blake has four siblings.

"I don't have a weak stomach," said 38-year-old Ryan. "I'm good with diapers and all that kind of stuff because I have lots of nieces and nephews, so I’ve done it all before.”", “I’m just excited about having a buddy,” he said. “We don’t know if it’s a boy or a girl yet, but whatever it is, you have this tether to reality that never goes away.”

Blake, 27, has echoed his sentiments when talking about the new baby. "I came from a big family, a big family of Southerners," said the Gossip Girl beauty. "I'm the youngest of five, so I never raised any siblings below me, but I'm always the person who's taking everyone else's kid and putting them on my hip, so I've kinda always been a mama."

Her pregnancy came as a surprise to fans. The mum-to-be announced the news by posting a gorgeous picture on her website Preserve, in which she was glowing with happiness and looked about five months along already.

The couple, who married in an intimate Southern ceremony in 2012, live quietly in upstate New York away from the bright lights. Their town Bedford is the perfect place to raise a family.

A source said: "They both have talked a lot about raising the baby out of LA and giving their kids a normal childhood. "Playing outside, having a puppy, catching lightning bugs ... they want their kids to experience all of that."
