Blake Lively has described motherhood as 'the happiest time' in her life, after welcoming her first child with husband Ryan Reynolds in December. The 27-year-old, who is reported to have called her baby daughter Violet, said that her new role as a mother feels natural. "I don't feel like it's a massive change," she told People magazine, adding that she is keen to have a big family with her 38-year-old husband. "I do want to just enjoy this moment, but I also feel like my first child is going to be the oldest sibling to the next kid, and that may change with each and every year.

Blake Lively described motherhood as "the happiest time of my life"

"I'm looking forward to how one baby influences the other, and to my family as a whole, to every single chapter." Blake and Ryan are yet to make an official announcement about the new addition to their family, who was born at the Westchester Medical Centre near their home in Bedford, New York. However a tweet from a user claiming to work at the centre let slip the baby girl's name. The message from @kimbanksy read: "Congrats @blakelively #blakelively glad to have you and baby girl violet in our care." The actress, who has been named in Forbes's 30 Under 30 list of influential Millenials, also told the magazine: "This is the happiest time in my life, and I could say that every day. I often feel like, 'I can't believe I'm experiencing this.'"

Blake Lively previously said she had always wanted to be a mother

Blake had previously told Us Weekly that being a mother was something she had "always wanted ever since I was a little girl". She added, "I knew I wanted to have lots of kids because I had come from a big family so it was always important to me. So it's just the excitement of that finally being here."
