Shakira is still the queen of her household after having a second baby boy, named Sasha, with longterm love Gerard Piqué. Their son was born at 9.54pm on 29 January, sources have confirmed to HOLA!, HELLO!'s sister publication.

The Colombian pop princess gave birth in Barcelona, where the couple have lived for the past few years. Expectation had been high in Catalonia with reporters camped outside the city's Teknon Clinic this week.

However, 27-year-old Gerard, a star player with Barcelona FC, continued his normal training routine and even travelled to Madrid for a match on Wednesday, while his girlfriend stayed close to home, kept company by her parents. Then on Thursday evening, the duo slipped quietly into the clinic using a side door.

The junior member of the Piqué-Mebarak team is a brother for Milan, who was two on 22 January. To celebrate this special time, the singer held a unique baby shower, asking followers to donate to UNICEF programmes for the world's neediest children. Despite dreams of having a girl, Shakira, 37, couldn't be happier with the new arrival. Speaking during her pregnancy, the devoted mother told a Brazilian TV show that the new baby is "a true gift". She added: "I'd like to have a girl one day, but we'll see, because you never know what's going to happen. At the moment I'm happy because I love boys too."

The pop powerhouse has talked about raising her children in a multi-cultural environment and encouraging them to love learning. She says: "Any child can learn languages before they're three, we expose Milan to Spanish, Catalan, English, French, German, Russian and Chinese. "Kids are able to comprehend more than we think, it's never too early to start teaching and exposing them to books even as newborns."

Even more remarkably, Shak is combining motherhood with some huge professional achievements. In July the Latin diva became the first person to reach 100 million likes on Facebook. The songstress also took centre stage singing the World Cup song La La La (Brazil 2014). In January she appeared in a sizzling video with Rihanna for their tune Can't Remember to Forget You.
