Shakira looked on top of the world on Monday when she left the hospital where she welcomed her second baby boy four days ago. The Colombian pop princess smiled happily at photographers as she was driven home in Barcelona by her long-term love Gerard Piqué. It's no wonder the singer was full of joie de vivre – she has plenty to be happy about. Not only have the duo welcomed a new healthy boy, but they were both celebrating their birthdays – Shakira turned 38 and Gerard turned 28 on Monday.

The stunning blonde wore her luscious locks loose around her shoulders and donned a large pair of sunglasses to leave the city’s Teknon Clinic – where the couple’s first child Milan was also born. Shakira welcomed Sasha Pique Mubarek last Thursday, when she underwent a scheduled Caesarean section. Their son was born at 9.54pm on Thursday 29 January. The newborn's proud grandfather Amador Bernabéu confirmed the name shortly after the birth, telling reporters: "He's called Sasha, which is Alexander in Russian."

Speaking before he’d even met the little one, he said: "They've told me he looks like Gerard. (Their first son) Milan looked like Shakira when he was born but this one looks more like his father." Shakira revealed on her website that "the name Sasha is of Greek and Russian descent and means 'defender of mankind' and 'warrior'." The brief statement also revealed that "both mother and child are in excellent health". No doubt Shakira and her handsome footballer beau Gerard will now be enjoying time as a family of four at their home in Barcelona, where the couple have lived for the past few years.
