Lily Cole is expecting her first baby with her boyfriend Kwame Ferreira. The 27-year-old model announced the news on Saturday, writing a statement on her website and posting a photo on Instagram of a Post-it note reading: "I am having a baby!" Referencing the domain name of her gift economy website 'Impossible', Lily titled the announcement Woman Has (Impossible) Baby. "The first known impossible baby is being born!" she wrote. "I met Kwame when I was in the process of developing Impossible and he offered the most profound gift, to help build the platform.

"After working together for a long time Kwame and I fell in love, and I am very happy to share our news that we are expecting our first child together…" Lily opted to keep her baby bump under wraps at the Elle Style Awards on Tuesday, sporting a loose-fitting pink gown. The floaty dress did the trick and many of Lily's fans expressed their surprise at her baby news.

Devon-born Lily rose to fame at the tender age of 14 when she was scouted by Storm Models during a chance encounter in Soho. Just two years later, aged 16, Lily graced the cover of Vogue and went on to enjoy a career walking catwalks around the world for fashion houses such as Chanel, Jean Paul Gaultier, Versace, Alexander McQueen and Louis Vuitton. In 2008, straight-A student Lily began a History of Art degree at Cambridge University and three years later graduated with a double first, the highest possible honour, from King's College. During the closing ceremony for the London 2012 Olympics, Lily joined models including Kate Moss, Naomi Campbell, Georgia May Jagger and Lily Donaldson to celebrate the British fashion industry.
