Olivia Wilde showed she is every inch the doting mother as she played with her son Otis on Wednesday. The actress gave fans a rare glimpse at her home life with the 11-month-old in an adorable photo posted to her social networking sites.

"My kind of party," she captioned the snap, which showed her on all fours and grinning next to her little one.

It is the first photo Olivia has shared of the tot since July, and he appears grown-up as he walks towards his superstar mum. The playful boy, whose dad is actor Jason Sudeikis, will celebrate his first birthday on 20 April.

Olivia has recently spoken out about her experiences as a mother, and told Shape magazine: "If I wasn't at work, I just wanted to stay home and party with my little man – and by 'party' I mean, of course, endless rounds of the Itsy Bitsy Spider."

The 30-year-old also spoke about the pressures put on women to return to their pre-pregnancy figures straight after giving birth, telling the magazine: "I am not in perfect shape. In fact, I'm softer than I've ever been… The truth is, I'm a mother and I look like one."

Meanwhile Olivia's fiancé Jason Sudeikis has previously spoken proudly of his son, and credited his "real cute" looks to his mother.

"He smiles a lot. I would say any looks he's got going – I feel like he's a real cute little guy – that's Olivia's doing.

"Living near her sister and my sister, he's surrounded by love 24/7 and 80 per cent of it is female based. So I think he'll turn out to be a really good guy. I'm excited to see who he is," he said at Sundance Film Festival in January.

Olivia and Jason began dating in November 2011 and got engaged just over two years later in January 2013.
