Frankie Bridge discusses her second pregnancy and being a working mum

May 11, 2015

Frankie Bridge is just months away from welcoming her second child with husband Wayne Bridge, but she admits it hasn't been an easy pregnancy. The Saturdays singer suffered with severe morning sickness which forced her to pull out of her stint in the Strictly Come Dancing tour, however she says she is over the worst of it now.

"I'm feeling so much better but it hasn't been an easy pregnancy," Frankie told The Mirror. "The condition kicked in at around six weeks and I was so ill they wanted to admit me to hospital. The only reason I didn't go is I couldn't bear the thought of the car journey."

The singer admitted that she was "terribly upset" about missing the Strictly tour, but said that everyone understood what she was suffering from as the Duchess of Cambridge, née Kate Middleton, also had hyperemesis gravidarium.

Frankie Bridge said her second pregnancy hasn't been easy

"At one point I just lay on the floor because even moving my eyes made me feel ill. It's eased off and while it returns every so often if I rest, eat little and often and take medication, it's controllable and I can get on with life," she said.

The 26-year-old also admitted that she won't be in any rush to lose weight after giving birth.

"It'll take time because my priority won't be my weight, it'll be the baby and my son and helping them bond. I think that's the healthy reality for the majority of women."

Frankie has the support of her husband Wayne, who she says is happy to be a hands on dad while she continues to be a working mum.

"I'm fortunate Wayne's wonderful with Parker. He's the fun parent who makes him laugh and they're proper boys together," she said. "My mum always worked, so it's the life I come from. Wayne looking after our son while I go to work gives me total peace of mind that he's safe and happy."
