Helen Flanagan has been taking the opportunity to relax in the sun before she welcomes her first child. The former Coronation Street star, who is 39 weeks pregnant, took to Instagram to share a picture of herself making the most of the British summertime before her baby's arrival in just a week.

"39 weeks pregnant today. Love my @freyalingerie spirit bikini for chilling in the garden today," she captioned the image of herself revealing her baby bump in a pretty pink bikini.

The 24-year-old is gearing up to welcome her first child with footballer boyfriend Scott Sinclair and revealed that they had already celebrated the new arrival with a special meal on Wednesday. Sharing a photo of a plate decorated with the word 'Congratulations', she wrote: "Not had the baby yet but for when we do x".

Helen also celebrated the impending arrival with a baby shower on 30 May. The mum-to-be was joined by her family and friends for an afternoon of fun and treats, organised by her sister Jane Flanagan.

The bee-themed baby shower was a reference to the fact that the model and her partner do not know the gender of their baby. The phrase 'what will it bee?' was placed in a honeycomb-style frame on the table of treats and was also iced onto several cakes.

Helen was clearly thrilled with the baby shower and shared several photos with the event, as well as thanking her sister for her hard work.

"Thank you @janeoflan for my amazing baby shower," she wrote.

Helen announced that she was expecting her first child with Scott, her partner of over six years, in December.

"Me and Scott are expecting our first baby in the summer," she tweeted shortly before Christmas Day. "We are both so happy and excited xxx."
