Zoe Saldana discusses life with her twin sons Cy and Bowie

June 16, 2015

Zoe Saldana's twin sons may look identical, but they have completely different personalities, the actress has revealed. Speaking at the Los Angeles film festival, the new mum opened up on how she is coping with life as a working mother.

"The moment they popped out, they had personalities," Zoe told E! News of her sons Cy and Bowie. "They are two different people. Identical boys but two people."

The Guardians of the Galaxy actress added that she and husband Marco Perego have recruited some help to get the twins on a normal sleep schedule.

Zoe Saldana and her husband have hired two nannies to help with their twins

"We're in the middle of sleep training so we have two nannies who are wonderful," she revealed. "One that's helping us and sort of guiding us and teaching us how to sleep train. We just have extra hands because we are new time parents and the twins are giving us a run for our money."

The 36-year-old also explained her decision not to show off her sons' faces on Instagram, saying she doesn’t feel comfortable revealing their full identity online.

"I just don't want 16 years from now to get 'You are so disrespectful. You invaded, you exposed me and I wasn't ready,'" Zoe explained. "Even though they're babies and they're under our care, it's still their face."

Zoe said she won't reveal her sons' faces on social media

She continued: "Right now, they're not in the position to speak for themselves or make a decision… I don't want to make it for them."

Zoe's talk of family life comes just days after she was forced to defend her husband Marco Perego's decision to take her surname when they married in 2013. The actress said she thought her children would "respect and admire" their father for his decision when they were older, and said she felt proud that Marco had taken her surname as his own.

"Fathers, sons, brothers, men everywhere: Your legacy will not perish if you take your partner's surname, or she keeps hers," Zoe wrote on Facebook. "I've been made aware that a comment regarding my marriage has garnered some attention. I felt proud that my husband decided to take my last name as his own."
