Lily Cole gives birth to baby girl and reveals name

Model Lily Cole has given birth to a baby girl. The 27-year-old and her boyfriend Kwame Ferreira welcomed their first child on Friday, with Lily taking to Twitter to share the happy news with her followers.

Lily Cole unveiled the happy news on Twitter

"Delighted to say we had a little girl!" she wrote, alongside an adorable close-up photo of her daughter's tiny hand holding on to Lily's world-famous auburn locks.

Clearly besotted with the new arrival, Lily quickly posted another photo on her Instagram page. In the touching snap, Lily is beaming at the camera as she holds her daughter in her arms. "Me and my little girl!" she proudly wrote in the caption.

The new mother also revealed that the couple have chosen to give their little girl a unique name – Wylde. The star shared the exciting news on her website via a touching poem written in honour of the new addition to her family. The touching passage read:

"Born on the hottest dayOrdinaryExtraordinaryWitchcraft. Wilderness.Love beyond doubt.Love, a fact of life.Without fear or choice.Wylde Cole Ferreira.We have a little girl -YAY."

It comes as no surprise that Lily unveiled the name on her website – it was also where she first announced her pregnancy. Referencing the domain name of her gift economy website Impossible, she titled the post 'Woman Has (Impossible) Baby'.

"The first known impossible baby is being born!" she wrote. "I met Kwame when I was in the process of developing Impossible and he offered the most profound gift, to help build the platform.

"After working together for a long time Kwame and I fell in love, and I am very happy to share our news that we are expecting our first child together…"
