September 30, 2015

Congratulations to Katherine Jenkins, who has given birth to a baby girl! The Welsh singer took to Instagram to announce the happy news that she and her husband Andrew Levitas are now a family of three.

"Introducing our daughter Aaliyah Reign Levitas, who came loudly into the world weighing almost 7lbs and surrounded by love," wrote Katherine. "We are absolutely besotted with her & grateful for the beautiful blessing of this happy, healthy, little miracle."

Katherine, 35, adoringly shared a photo collage of the newborn's tiny hands and feet.

The mezzo-soprano announced that she was expecting her first child in April of this year, and over the summer, Katherine has kept a relatively low profile.

A couple of days ago the singer did post a picture of her burgeoning baby bump on Facebook, to champion a cause close to her heart – the protection of rhinos. Katherine held up a speech bubble sign that pointed to her unborn daughter, which read: "I want to see a rhino when I grow up."

The singer and her film director husband married at Hampton Court Palace on 27 September 2014 – on the same day that George and Amal Clooney tied the knot in Venice, Italy. The pair had only dated for seven months before they said "I do".

A few months into their marriage, Katherine announced that she was pregnant with a little girl and shared a sweet photo of a pair of pink baby's shoes. Her pregnancy was welcome news for the blonde beauty, who has made no secret of her desire to start a family.

"I can't wait to have kids," Katherine has told HELLO! previously. "I can't wait for us to become a family if and when – God willing – that happens."

The Home Sweet Home singer added that if she does have children, she will take time out.

"I don't want to be dragging my children around on aeroplanes," she said. "I know it works for some people, but it's just a personal thing for me. I want to be at home, I want to be there. I'd love my kids to have a really happy, secure childhood because it's so important."
