Patrick Kielty has said that the idea of welcoming his baby boy or baby girl next year is "very exciting". The Northern Irish comedian and his pregnant wife Cat Deeley are set to become parents for the first time in spring 2016.
The dad-to-be confirmed the news and expressed his joy on Loose Women, telling the panellists: "Yes. There is a little baby on the way. In the spring. Very exciting, God love it. It's going to have this as a father!"
Patrick, 44, also revealed how he wooed the English presenter – by flying halfway around the world to surprise her for her birthday.
"God love it, it's going to have this as a father!" joked Patrick Kielty of his unborn child
The pair had been friends for 10 years before they tied the knot in 2012, but there was "always a spark" between them, Patrick admitted.
"We always used to keep in contact," said the comedian. "It was her birthday, she was in Beverley Hills and I was in Dundrum... and obviously LA, eight hours behind, so it was around teatime with her.
"I texted her 'Happy birthday', from a little Irish pub. It was around two o'clock in the morning, approaching closing time, and she said 'It's just a shame you're not in LA because I'm having a lunch tomorrow', so I said, 'I'll be there'.
"So I got up at five, jumped on a six o'clock flight from Ireland, got into Heathrow at seven, jumped on a twenty-to-ten flight, got in at quarter-past-one, walked into the Beverly Hills Hotel. I said 'Hi', she fell off the chair and we've been together ever since."

Last month Cat, 38, announced her pregnancy on Twitter, writing: "Exciting news… Paddy and I are so happy to be expecting our first child in the spring… Lucky us."
The So You Think You Can Dance host has also admitted that she only shared her baby news because she couldn't hide her growing bump while hosting the popular US show.
"I probably would have tried to hide it for a bit longer, but it got to the point where I was like, 'Ah, I'm live every week,'" Cat told People. "I probably wouldn't have announced it at all, actually."
