The Backstreet Boys are about to welcome another member with the news that singer Nick Carter and his wife Lauren Kitt are expecting a baby. It will be the first child for the couple who got engaged in 2013 when he proposed on an islet in the Florida Keys in front of her father and friends. Their beautiful wedding took place a year later at the Bacara resort in Santa Barbara, California.

Until he met 32-year-old Lauren, a fitness expert and actress, Nick could never have imagined settling down. “I said I’d never get married,” he told People magazine at the time of their wedding.

Now, though, the 35-year-old seems ready to be family man. He changed his party lifestyle for sports and hobbies a few years ago. "Working out definitely helped my self esteem, and it helped to kind of push it all aside. I just started replacing drinking and the parties... with healthier things like sports, video games."

Nick has also thrown himself into new challenges, signing up for this season's Dancing with the Stars. He has been combining training with Backstreet Boys performances.

His professional Sharna Burgessn says Nick has "put a lot of pressure on himself to be great", adding: "I really see how much he wants this; how much he wants to make the Backstreet Boys proud; how much he wants to make himself proud."

And it's clear that the baby of the Backstreet bunch will have the same attitude to fatherhood.

Speaking about the wedding, his bandmate AJ McLean said: "We’re all family. We’re all brothers. (It was exciting) to see our little baby brother finally make that big, big final step. Next step is having kids.”
