Kevin Pietersen has revealed that he and wife Jessica Taylor, the former Liberty X star, are expecting their second baby and the new arrival is due to arrive around Chritsmas Day.

Speaking to his friend Piers Morgan on ITV's Good Morning Britain on Tuesday, the former England batsman shared the good news that Jessica was eight months pregnant.

The happy couple married in 2007 in a winter-wonderland themed wedding and already share a five-year-old son, Dylan. Kevin, who was playing a tournament in Barbados at the time of Jessica going into labour, hopped on a plane and travelled more than 4,000 miles to be there as his son was born.

"It's my first child so it's a hell of an exciting time for me," Kevin revealed before leaving the Caribbean. "I'll be dashing across the Atlantic and hopefully dashing back."

As the 35-year-old gets set to become a dad for the second time, he is launching his foundation's Sprite 24/7 Project this week. The foundation helps underprivileged teenagers from seven countries take part in a 10-day cricket camp in Dubai, which is no surprise as the veteran batsman has always enjoyed giving advice to younger players and admits a coaching career could lie ahead for him.

"I would be stupid to say I don't want to get into coaching after I stop playing in some capacity," he said. "I like doing it. I like helping guys progress and get better. I've done it throughout my career when I've played. We get better together because it's good for my game as well, having forgotten a lot of stuff I learned when I was 22. It's a win-win helping others."

The cricket legend has enjoyed an impressive end to the year scoring 342 runs in four T20 innings for the Dolphins, and he refused to rule out an England return. "I'm 35, I've got years left of playing," he said. "I've been very lucky - in all the franchises I've played in the last few years I've top scored in all of them. If the World T20 happens it happens. Of course I'd love to help Morgy and I'd love to go out there and do well."
