Congratulations are in order for Josh Hartnett and Tamsin Egerton. The couple were pictured leaving London's St Mary's Hospital on Monday after welcoming their first child into the world. New dad Josh, 37, seemed to be taking fatherhood in his stride, carrying the newborn in a baby carrier as he walked behind Tamsin into a waiting car.A light patterned pink blanket covered the baby – suggesting that perhaps the couple have welcomed a daughter.

Josh and 27-year-old Tamsin announced their pregnancy news in July. The couple first met on the set of The Lovers in 2010, but reportedly didn't start dating until they worked together again on the 2012 movie Singularity.Josh – who is famed for films including Black Hawk Down and Pearl Harbour – has previously dated Hollywood actresses including Scarlett Johansson, Mischa Barton and Amanda Seyfried. But he and Tamsin have managed to keep their romance very low-key.Speaking to USA Today in May, Josh explained: "I purposely didn't want people to know too much about my personal life because I think a lot of people give it away for free.

"I think if you spend too much time courting people's attention into your personal life, you lose your ownership of it," he continued. "That's why I make sure my life is my own. I was not a dumb kid. Josh sold his four-bedroom mansion in Minnesota in June, and now lives with British actress Tamsin in a north London property.
