December 16, 2015

The next few months are going to be life-changing for Steps star Ian 'H' Watkins and his partner Craig Ryder. The couple have revealed that they are expecting twins in a sweet and uplifting animated video. Singer Ian, 39, teased fans on Tuesday morning, tweeting that he had some big news to share with them. "Morning all!! I've been bursting to tell you some news!! I can tell you all later!! :o)."

Just a few hours after that, he posted a link to the couple's YouTube video to announce their impending fatherhood. The clip takes viewers on a journey of Ian and Craig's relationship, showing some of their biggest moments to date – from jetting off on holiday together to moving into their first home. "Together we've been on lots of adventures!" the video explains. "But our biggest adventure is about to begin!"

It continues: "For a long time we have been wishing, and our wish is about to come true! We are going… to be dads!!!"There's more… it's twins!!"The little animation ends with a picture of their sonogram hanging over a fireplace before the words, "The Ryder-Watkins twins – arriving soon!" appear on the screen.

Ian and Craig have long dreamt of becoming fathers

The news is all the more poignant for Ian and Craig, who have long dreamt of becoming parents. They experienced heartbreak in 2012 when their surrogate suffered a miscarriage with their first baby. Ian described hearing the news as the "worst moment of my life". He told The People: "We were thinking names, and we even planned our first Christmas as a family. We were both ready to be dads. I just feel empty and helpless. The only person who can help me is Craig."
