Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson has shared the first photo of his newborn daughter. The 43-year-old actor uploaded a sweet snapshot showing the tiny baby resting on his bare chest, and proudly announced her name – Jasmine.The Rock's longterm girlfriend Lauran Hashian gave birth to the couple's first child on Wednesday 16 December, and on Sunday he gave fans their first glimpse of the new arrival.

"Christmas came early," he wrote alongside the tender photo. "Within minutes of being born she was laying on daddy's chest. And being a grateful man takes on a whole new meaning… Thank you guys so much for the awesome congratulatory wishes and love you've been sending @laurenhashianofficial and myself. "We're extremely grateful. Kinda crazy but in this cool powerful skin to skin bonding moment with my newborn baby Jasmine, I had just one wish I asked the universe… Give me the strength to be a better man today than I was yesterday," he continued. "If I can accomplish that then I'd have a good shot at being a great father. "The star then offered up his advice to would-be fathers. "To all you young men out there who will be fathers one day, the goal of 'being better' will never steer you wrong. Trust me I've been down that road. Something else that will never steer you wrong is 'walking thru fire' with you baby's mama.

"I was right there during labour, helping her breathe, every highly intense contraction, every second of pain, right there watching the actual birth, cutting the cord and wiping the tears. Incredible. "The Rock is already a father to 14-year-old Simone, his daughter with his ex-wife Dany Garcia. "I was raised and live with amazing strong women, so the universe felt we needed one more," he announced in November, revealing the sex of the baby. "IT'S A BABY GIRL!! THANK YOU guys so much for the awesome support and love you've sent (Lauren) and myself from around the world. "We're so grateful for this blessing and thrilled to share the news with y'all."
