Morena Baccarin and Ben McKenzie have welcomed their first child

"Morena and Ben are so happy to welcome baby girl Frances Laiz Setta Schenkkan on March 2," the actors' representative confirmed to USA Today. "All are happy and healthy and appreciate the well-wishes."

Baby Frances is the first child for Ryan and the second for Morena, who shares a three-year-old son, Julius, with her former husband Austin Chick. The Homeland actress separated from her husband in July 2015, with Austin citing "irreconcilable differences" for the split.

Just two months later it was revealed that Morena and Ben were expecting their first child together, days after their romance was first made public. Morena has since been open about her experiences of pregnancy, and joked that she wanted to "sleep all day" as she promoted her film Deadpool while her due date neared.

"I want to sleep all day and not be in a dress and heels," she said. "My waters could break right now!"

Morena also said that her son Julius was excited to meet his baby sibling.

"I'm definitely less nervous, but it goes by a lot quicker because you're chasing after a toddler," Morena told People magazine in February. "There's not a lot of resting going on. I don't feel worse, it's just been very different."

She added: "(Julius) gets it, that something's going on there. He is very sweet about it. His world is about to change."
