Rebecca Adlington's daughter is walking! See the cute video

June 1, 2016

Rebecca Adlington and Harry Needs' daughter Summer has reached a very important milestone ahead of her first birthday – taking her first steps! The proud mother made the revelation by sharing a sweet video of her daughter walking unaided on Instagram.

The short clip shows Summer smiling broadly as she toddles across a wooden floor while wearing a striped sleep suit. The baby girl, who turns one on 8 June, appears steady on her feet as she approaches her mum who is behind the camera.

Becky's video proved popular with her fans and has been viewed over 13,000 times, with many commenting on how "beautiful" and "adorable" Summer looks.

Both Becky and Harry dote on their daughter and have kept their followers updated with her progress over the past twelve months, including her first family holiday and first time in the swimming pool. Although the couple sadly parted ways in March, they have remained "best friends" and are both dedicated to co-parenting their baby girl.

Summer will turn one on 8 June

"We move forward with respect for one another and our focus and commitment is on parenting our gorgeous daughter Summer," they wrote in a joint statement announcing their separation.

Just a few weeks later Rebecca told the Irish Mirror: "It's not like we're talking, because we are – we talk all the time. We are both just working hard on trying to be good parents, and our total focus is on our daughter.

"We are both so sporty so we take her swimming, and I would be very surprised if Summer doesn't grow up to be very sporty and active. She's only nine months old but her personality is coming out – she's already so independent, and knows exactly what she wants to do… so she's a bit like me."
