Tina Barrett becomes a first time mum – find out her baby's unusual name

June 21, 2016

S Club 7 star Tina Barrett has welcomed her first baby. The 39-year-old singer gave birth to a baby boy on Monday, and shortly afterwards confirmed the happy news on social media. "Proud and excited to announce the arrival of my beautiful baby boy Roman," she told her fans, posting a series of baby bottle emojis and blue love hearts.

Little Roman is Tina's first child with partner Paul Cashmore. Just last week, she excitedly posted a selfie showing off her baby bump, captioning it: "Only days to go!"

Tina recently opened up about her pregnancy to the Mail, saying: "It's amazing. I'm loving every minute of it. I've been prepared for the worst because you hear stories, but it's been really good. I feel very lucky."

She added: "People do say when you’re late 30s, 40s that it is more difficult and you could have complications. That was always in the back of my head when we decided to try for a baby.

"Luckily we conceived naturally and it’s been absolutely fine. Had we not, it would have been really tough. Things have changed so much because so many women are having babies older now. I think I would have looked into IVF if we had experienced difficulties."

Tina and Paul met four years ago while working on Russell Grant's charity music video for The Clapping Song. She revealed that they had chosen to find out the sex of their baby when the time came.

"When the nurse told us what we were having I burst into tears," she admitted. "I didn't mind if we had a girl or a boy but I was so overcome with emotion that I couldn't help myself."
