Exclusive: Dani Harmer has welcomed a baby girl - find out her name!

June 29, 2016

Tracy Beaker star Dani Harmer has given birth to a beautiful baby girl, HELLO! can exclusively reveal. Avarie-Belle Betsy Brough, the first child for 27-year-old Dani and her boyfriend Simon, arrived at 5pm on Tuesday weighing in at 6lbs 9oz. "Mother and baby are doing well – the baby is beautiful like her mother!" Jill Harmer, Dani's mum, exclusively tells HELLO!.

The proud parents, who revealed their pregnancy joy in HELLO! earlier this year, had previously spoken of their delight at the prospect of welcoming a baby. And Dani, a former Strictly Come Dancing star, admitted that she can't believe she is grown up enough to become a mother.

"I've always wanted to be a mum," said Dani Harmer

"People still see me as a teenager," said Dani. "I did the Rocky Horror Show a couple of years ago and some people were like, 'Hang on…Tracy Beaker's going to be in her underwear on stage?'"

But, she added, both she and Simon were "over the moon" to be welcoming their first child. "I still wake up every morning and go, 'I'm pregnant.' It was amazing seeing the scan. I find the whole thing absolutely fascinating. What an amazing, clever thing to be going on inside my body," she said.

"I absolutely can't wait. I'm also really nervous. But I guess I just have to take each day as it comes. I've always wanted to be a mum."

And Dani already has an idea of the mother she plans to be.

"I want to be a fun mum," she said. "My mum was really fun and she was a friend as well as a mum. That's what I'd like to have with my child. I know I can tell my mum absolutely anything. I think if you can find the balance between respect and friendship, combining all those things into one, that would be perfect."
