Keri Russell and her Americans co-star, and real-life partner, Matthew Rhys welcomed their first child together in May, but they chose not to share any details about their new arrival – until now that is. Keri, 40, opened up about her baby during an appearance on the Today show on Friday, revealing both the gender and the name.
"We had a boy!" Keri told host Matt Lauer, before revealing that they had named their son Sam. "He's so good," the star shared. "He's big and fat and nice!"

Keri is also a mum to nine-year-old son River, and daughter Willa, four, from her previous marriage to Shane Deary. She confirmed her romance with Wales-born Matthew, 41, in April 2014, after months of speculation, when the TV stars made their first public appearance together as a couple.
Both were thrilled by the arrival of little Sam. A source told Us Weekly at the time: "Keri and Matt both look overjoyed and are over the moon to be new parents. They are always snapping pictures of the baby, and family and friends have been sending over gifts.

"Keri's mother and brother have been staying with them for the last week, spending all their time doting over the baby."
Matthew and Keri star in The Americans as Philip and Elizabeth Jennings, two Soviet KGB officers posing as an American married couple. Keri has previously said that she enjoys the "freedom" of her role in the spy drama. "It's not this big sweeping romantic movie where you have to be so in love and so beautiful and so sexy," she said. "You're usually using the sexuality, at least in the spy end of it, to get something.
"So there is kind a freedom in that, because it's kind of messier or more direct than that."
